With a vast inviting interior, warm heated pool and outside dinning it is the perfect place to relax and enjoy a vacation with family and friends. The beds are super King’s or luxury sized twins all with fresh crisp linen and towels. We offer bike hire and there is wifi connection, telephone, DVD player and free to air satellite. There are also 3 high chairs, booster sits and travel cots.

Hidden Burgundy situated in the middle of France is a landscapes of valleys, vineyards, canals, rivers, medieval towns perched on granite rock, bustling markets and an abundance of history.’ La Ferme de la Lochere’ sits quietly in the heart of Burgundy, surrounded by magnificent countryside, local towns which are oozing with charm and rich in history, this fabulous 400 year old farmhouse was once part of the local Chateau dating back to the 1600’s, just a few steps away.
It is ideally placed within easy reach of many of these famous attractions the very latest of which has just been opened by the French Prime Minister, François Fillon ‘Alesia Museum’ an amazing archeological site telling the story of a ferocious battle between Julius Caesar in September 52BC against the Gaulle’s in a hill fort settlement called Alesia. Won eventually by the Romans! Efficient motorway routes A6 from Paris and A26 from Calais via Reims makes driving a breeze.
Rail links with the TGV high speed trains from the Paris airports and central Paris to the local station in Montbard 20mins away with access to rental cars is a great option for those taking the Eurostar or flying in from abroad.

Marigny le Cahouet is a charming traditional French village, it has a boulangerie, village school, Marie and running along the Burgundy canal a little bistro Chez D’eau, ideal for a cool beer and a glass of chilled rosé as well as serving snacks, salads, ice cream and coffee in a little garden just by the lock – perfect after a gentle stroll.
‘La Ferme de la Lochere’ can be found nestling quietly by the stream that bares the same name. Meandering its way alongside is the stunning Burgundy canal, ever changing with the seasons, perfect for jogging, strolling or cycling whilst taking in the magnificent scenery. It is a stunning location all year round. With summer sun blazing across the forests, and then the explosion of autumn leaves that glow with glorious fiery reds and oranges.
‘La Ferme de la Lochere’ is perfectly positioned to explore both the north of Burgundy – Chablis, Irancy, Coulanges le Vineuse and St. Bris and the south of Burgundy – Côte de Nuit from Fixin to Nuits Saint Georges and Côte de Beaune from Ladoix to Chassagne Montrachet. Your hostess has exclusive access into many of these vineyards and visits can be arranged for private tours and tastings at the rental property and in the Domaine’s of some of Burgundy’s finest producers. Arriving at ‘la ferme de la lochere’ you are immediately struck by the towering oak doors, designed by your hostess and made by local ‘artisans’. Painted in a light french grey one of the national heritage colours allowed in this protected village they stretch over 3m, and caste brilliant sunlight through onto the ground floor.The whole of the downstairs is paved in light creamy flag stones spanning just over 200m² with a locally handmade stone staircase taking you up to the 1st floor. As you come through the front door and glance heavenward you cannot fail to notice the 2 colourful authentic Moroccan lanterns that give a soft glow in the evenings.
Bearing round to your left past the elegant dress mirror you will discover the extremely spacious living area with its stone and cast iron wood burner surrounded by 3 comfortable velvet sofa’s.There’s a very special table, specifically designed by your hostess to seat 14 comfortably, hand made again from oak by her carpenter, plenty of room for everyone!
The kitchen is simply designed and very impressive with long pale wooden worktops providing plenty of room to prepare meals or just sit and relax over the other side on the bar stools sipping aperitifs!! The professional Godin cooker has 7 gas burners, 1 warming oven 1 fan oven and one very large gas oven.
There is also an efficient dishwasher, washer and freezer as well as a large professional fridge and duo wine cellar. There are 5 spacious bedrooms all have bathrooms en suite and beds that are super king’s or generous twins.One of the bedrooms is on the ground floor to the right of the entrance, while two of the bedrooms upstairs have extra full size single beds with one of those also having a bath as well as a shower
There are also 3 travel cots for infants and toddlers. Heading outside there are two courtyards, one with a private dinning area, water feature, bbq and flower beds, the other has a heated 9.5mx4.5m pool with regulation security cover and sun loungers.
